🇬🇱 SAS starts flying to Nuuk in Greenland
SAS is excited to unveil a highly anticipated new route for summer 2025. Starting June 27, SAS will offer direct flights from Copenhagen to Nuuk, Greenland, enhancing connectivity to this unique Arctic destination.
The new route aligns with the opening of Nuuk’s international airport later this year, marking SAS’ return to Greenland after more than two decades. The initiative strengthens travel connections to and from Greenland and SAS destinations worldwide.
Through its existing commercial agreement with their partner Air Greenland, SAS connects Greenland to its broader network, enhancing access to SAS global network. This also underscores SAS’ commitment to strengthening travel opportunities across the Arctic.
“We’re thrilled to enhance connectivity between Greenland, Scandinavia and destinations worldwide through our SkyTeam alliance,” says Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS. “This new route meets the rising demand for unique, adventurous travel experiences, while reinforcing Copenhagen’s position as a key hub for Scandinavian connections worldwide.”
Operating during the summer peak season, the new route will highlight Nuuk’s appeal as one of the world’s most pristine and unique travel destinations. Greenland was recently named by National Geographic as one of the 25 best places to travel in 2025. By improving access for international travelers, SAS will help position Greenland as an exciting, emerging location on the global travel map.
This new route is subject to final governmental approval.
