A leading provider of Water Treatment solutions and services to Aquaculture
Reykjavik, Iceland, and Malmö, Sweden, February 20, 2025 – Haf Investments (IS Haf fjárfestingar slhf.. “Haf”), an Icelandic private equity fund specializing in the seafood sector, today announced the acquisition of NP Innovation (“NP”), a leading international developer and producer of water treatment products for aquaculture.
The purchase is made subject to the approval of the Competition Authority in Iceland.
The acquisition strengthens Haf’s portfolio and aligns with its strategy to drive growth in sustainable aquaculture. With Haf as the new majority owner, NP will accelerate its expansion as a leading provider of water treatment solutions, with a particular emphasis on aquaculture.
The company plans to expand its product portfolio, continue delivering cutting-edge solutions to customers, and support the global growth of land-based aquaculture. NP’s future growth will be driven both organically and through strategic acquisitions in existing and new markets worldwide.

Haf’s lead advisor for this investment was Deloitte in Iceland with a support from Deloitte in Sweden, and Haavind were advisors on the seller side.
Founded by Nils-Åke Persson in 2011, NP Innovation is an international developer and producer of water treatment products for aquaculture applications. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, with offices in Norway and Iceland, NP specializes in micro-particle separation and water treatment technologies. Its product portfolio includes disc filters, drum filters, degassers, and biofiltration solutions.
With approx. 90% of sales focused on aquaculture – primarily Atlantic salmon farming – NP’s products are applied in key applications such as smolt production, land-based grow-out production, well boats, and sludge collection. In 2024, NP’s consolidated sales amounted to approximately SEK 180 million.
About Haf Investments
The Haf Investments fund was founded in February 2023. It is a fully funded ISK 10 billion private equity fund which invests across the seafood industry value chain, ranging from fishing and aquaculture to high technology, infrastructure and services to marine biotechnology. The investment capacity is however considerably higher through a co-investment incorporated in the fund’s structure.
