The partnership aims at strengthening cooperation on future renewable energy opportunities, and a joint declaration was signed during the State Visit to France, in the presence of HM King Frederik and HE The President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron.

TotalEnergies and European Energy have signed a Joint Declaration to pursue opportunities within offshore wind in Denmark and explore further cooperation on onshore renewables and low carbon molecules projects. The declaration outlines the parties’ shared ambition to participate in the new upcoming Danish offshore wind tender.

The signing builds on a well-established partnership between the two companies, which includes two offshore wind projects — Lillebælt Syd and Jammerland Bugt — that received establishment permits from the Danish Energy Agency in December 2024. TotalEnergies acquired the majority stake in both projects after the establishment permits were granted. Once operational, the two offshore parks are expected to deliver a combined capacity of over 405 MW, supplying renewable electricity to more than 400,000 Danish households annually.

“This declaration reflects the strong mutual trust we’ve built with TotalEnergies through our joint work in Danish offshore wind,” says Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy and continues: “We are excited about the possibility of expanding our collaboration and continuing to support the green transition in Denmark.”

The Danish Country Chair Martin Rune Pedersen elaborates:

“Denmark has long been a pioneer in offshore wind, and we are pleased to continue our collaboration with European Energy on potential future renewable projects. TotalEnergies’ technological capabilities and experience with large energy infrastructure projects match well with European Energy’s innovative business model and strong local engagement approach. This declaration is a clear testimony to our shared ambition to drive the energy transition in Denmark,” he adds.

The agreement was signed during the State Visit to France in the presence of HM King Frederik and HE The President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron.
