🇸🇪 🇫🇮 TSOs postpone the consultation of the arrangements to support the functioning of cross-zonal hedging products on the Finnish-Swedish electricity bidding zone borders
Press release from Fingrid
Fingrid, Svenska kraftnät and Kraftnät Åland have decided to postpone the consultation of the arrangements to support the functioning of cross-zonal hedging opportunities on the Finnish-Swedish electricity bidding zone borders. The reason is that Fingrid has not received the decision from ACER’s Board of Appeal
In autumn 2022, ACER obliged the Finnish and Swedish TSOs to develop a proposal for arrangements for cross-zonal hedging opportunities other than long-term transmission rights to support the functioning of wholesale electricity markets in Finnish-Swedish electricity bidding zone borders (ACER’s decision no. 12/2022).
Fingrid filed an appeal against the decision at ACER’s Board of Appeal in the end of 2022. ACER’s Board of Appeal organized an oral hearing regarding the matter on 10th May 2023. However, the result of the appeal process remains open as the TSOs have not received any decision yet. Therefore, the TSOs will not organize the planned joint consultation in August.
The TSOs will update the stakeholders on the status of the proposal as soon as possible.
