AFRY joins Female Leader Engineer, a talent program founded and driven by CoGig with the aim of getting more women and non-binary persons into leading positions at tech companies.

An important step towards AFRY’s goal of having 40% women in leading positions by 2030.

Female Leader Engineer is a talent program for female engineering students ahead of graduation. The program aims to inspire women and non-binary persons to work in leading positions at tech companies, and offers a unique meeting point for the Swedish industry and engineering students with leadership potential. The 25 selected participants will get the opportunity to visit the partner companies and thus gain a deeper understanding of the companies’ operations and challenges as well as career opportunities. At AFRY, we hold professional growth and inclusion close to our hearts, and through this partnership the network of female engineers will grow.

“Access to talent is crucial for our profitability and for managing the green transition. The big picture is important to us. From introducing teenage girls in high school to technology and engineering, to making sure all employees at AFRY are getting the same opportunities regardless of gender, age and origin. We believe that by focusing on female leaders in particular, we will accelerate the overall development of inclusion and diversity”, says Sara Klingenborg, HR Director at AFRY.

AFRY is joining the program with the current partner companies Ericsson, Fortum, Kone, Sandvik, Scania, Skanska, SSAB, Sodexo and Stora Enso. These companies represent a width in the industry and share the values of gender equality.

”AFRY is an excellent and welcome addition to the program, and I look forward to working together to see more women in leading positions”, says Lena Larsson, CEO at CoGig.

The upcoming talent program will take place on the 27th of September, ending with a gala in November where one of the participants will be awarded Female Leader Engineer of the year.
