Linda Kleist is to be the new destination development manager at Visit Greenland

Visit Greenland is strengthening and prioritising its focus on destination development, with the appointment of Linda Kleist as Destination Development Manager as of 1 March 2023.

28-year-old Linda Kleist comes from a position as Destination Manager at Destination Diskobay. In recent years, she has worked with locally-based tourism development in close collaboration with the region’s citizens, associations, and tourism and business players.

“At Visit Greenland, we work to ensure that tourism benefits Greenland as a whole and that development is sustainable and locally based, which includes a strong focus on preparing and developing even more destinations in the country to meet the increased demand we are experiencing. With Linda’s professional and personal background, we will have additional competencies in our team that will strengthen and contribute positively to our development,” explains Visit Greenland’s CEO, Anne Nivíka Grødem.

The future Destination Development Manager trained as a Market Economist and she has a Bachelor’s degree in International Hospitality Management. She has also lived in mostplaces in Greenland and has international experience from her exchange programme in China, where she studied sustainable tourism.

“I have lived in many places in Greenland and have learned that each destination is unique and can contribute to the country’s tourism development. I look forward to strengthening national tourism development with a local focus and promoting Greenland as an attractive adventure destination in the world,” says Linda Kleist.
