NYAB and Energiequelle sign BoP contract for Mikonkeidas wind farm
Press release from NYAB
NYAB has signed a Balance of Plant (BoP) contract regarding the new Mikonkeidas wind farm constructed in Kristiinankaupunki, Ostrobothnia. The value of the contract is nearly EUR 18 million. Construction work will begin in February, and work for power plant installations will be completed in early 2024. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in September 2024.
NYAB shall supply the wind farm’s roads, lifting areas, foundations, internal grid, substation and transmission line construction to Energiequelle. In practice, this means that NYAB is responsible for everything in the construction of the wind farm,
except for the erection of wind turbines. The Mikonkeidas wind farm will have 16 wind turbines whose combined power is 105.6 megawatts.
The project client is Energiequelle, a company that develops and carries out energy projects internationally. Energiequelle has planned and carried out wind power projects since 1997. NYAB is currently constructing the Lumivaara wind farm for Energiequelle in Kainuu, in the municipality of Hyrynsalmi.
“The Mikonkeidas wind farm allows us to, once again, make extensive use of the whole Group’s expertise on special and infrastructure construction as well as energy and power network construction. It’s good to see an established customer relationship continue”, says Jaakko Tyyvi, NYAB’s Project Director, Wind power.
“NYAB will deliver the Mikonkeidas wind farm to us as a turnkey project. NYAB’s ability to carry out a project according to the client’s values impressed us in our previous project, and the Mikonkeidas wind farm is a great way to continue our cooperation”, says Raine Kyrö, Head of Construction at Energiequelle.
