Sigga Dögg and Saevar at Better Six won Gulleggið

Iceland’s largest and oldest entrepreneurial competition, Gulleggið, was held recently in Grósku’s auditorium where the Top 10 ideas competed for Gulleggið 2023. The tense atmosphere did not hide when the results were announced. The top three and the most popular contestant were announced according to the public.
Sigga Dögg and Sævarr Eyjólfsson in Better Six won Gulleggið 2023 they introduced the idea for Better Sex which is an adult streaming provider with professional and fun information about sex. Ólafur M. Magnússon of Landsbankinn awarded the team a main prize of ISK 1 million. Salóme Bregt Hollanders, designer presented Sigga Dögg and Sævarr Eyjólfsson with a trophy that she designed specifically for Gulleggið 2023.
SoulTech came second, but the team consists of Davíð Haraldsson, Stefán Ólafsson, Bryndís Jóhannsdóttir, Pétur Örn Jónsson and Hrefna Líf Ólafsdóttir. SoulTech develops a digital environment that facilitates all psychotherapy work.
In third place were the duo Þórey Rúnarsdóttir and Marta Schluneger for the idea StitchHero. The idea will overthrow the way creative knitters knit by empowering them to design and create garments to their own liking. Design software with a comfortable interface that transforms design into a usable knitting recipe.
Bergur Ebbi opened the competition with great joy and fascination live from the Gróska auditorium. The Golden Egg sponsors, judges, other invited guests and the public who watched loudly live across the country listened enthusiastically to the ideas of all the contestants, and the atmosphere that is tense when the results of the top three were announced.
The public gets to vote for the most popular Gullegg team, and this year the duo was represented by Pelliscol, Íris Björk Marteinsdóttir and Ívar Örn Marteinsson from Sauðárkrókur. Pelliscol plans to develop and launch Spa skin care products based on Icelandic collagen, thus bringing the collagen closer to the skin.
Harpa Hjartardóttir, who presented the idea Snux, received a gift from Vördur insurance and the duo in EZZE, Donna Cruz and Þóra Ólafsdóttir received a special gift from Gróska Ideahouse. The soap train that Alda Leifsdóttir & Elísabet Halldórsdóttir has the idea for received special recognition for a good idea from Marel.
In the first phase of the Golden Egg participation process, 374 individuals registered, of whom 101 teams submitted the presentation of an idea forward in the second phase of the competition. The Golden Egg focus group, which counts around 70 individuals from the business sector and the innovation scene, subsequently selected 10 teams that competed for Gulleggið 2023 on February 10th in the Gróska auditorium.
The main sponsor of Golden Egg 2023 is Landsbankinn, which has participated in the project from the beginning, and other sponsors include Controlant, Origo, HVIN, the City of Reykjavík, Intellectual Property Office, Advania, Marel, Eyrir Invest, Promote Iceland, Technology Development Fund, Crowberry capital, KPMG, Ölgerðin, Brunnur, Kvika Asset Management, Gróska, Frumtak ventures, Vörður as well as Reykjavik University, University of Akureyri and University of Iceland.
