Skoogs starts Sweden’s northernmost Adblue factory
Piteå Skoogs Bränsle is starting Sweden’s northernmost Adblue factory at Haraholmen in Piteå in Norrbotten.

Adblue is an important component in reducing nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel engines by up to 90 percent.
The new production facility at Haraholmen can produce up to 20,000 tons per year. It also has a packaging line for different sizes of packaging.
“Producing Adblue locally means that we can offer competitive prices and faster deliveries, which benefits both our customers and the environment. This investment enables us to meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly products and services, while contributing to a more sustainable transport sector,” says Thomas Andersson, CEO of Skoogs Bränsle.
Adblue consists of about 30 percent granules and 70 percent water. Today, Adblue is transported ready-mixed from Europe and southern Sweden.
“This means unnecessarily many and long transports of water to reach us up here in the north. We have an incredibly high quality of water ourselves, and there is no shortage of it, so we felt it must be possible to do something about this. The answer was a production facility where we use our local water and add the granules to get the finished mix. The transportation distances are thus shorter and fewer,” says Thomas Andersson.
