Sunpine has grown the most among Swedish impact companies
The Piteå-based company Sunpine has increased its turnover the most among Swedish impact companies.
The news service Impact Loop has analysed over 1,000 Swedish companies in the green transition and listed the 50 companies that have increased their revenue the most in the past year.
Piteå-based Sunpine tops the list with an increase in turnover of SEK 900 million, from just over SEK 3 billion to just under SEK 4 billion.
“It feels incredibly honourable that our almost 20-year journey is being recognised in this way. We have invested close to SEK 1 billion to develop our patented process and build our plant, and among other things won the Polhem Prize for our innovation,” says David Öquist, CEO of Sunpine.
Sunpine produces raw pine diesel from residual products from the forestry and pulp industry. Their product reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 90 per cent compared to regular diesel.
The company is owned by Preem (which blends raw pine diesel into its Evolution Diesel product), Sveaskog, Södra and Lawter.
Impact companies are companies that have as part of their business concept to fulfil the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
