🇮🇸 Close mentoring session in Startup Storm

The third and final mentoring session in the Startup Storm business accelerator took place today. We extend our best thanks to our mentors for participating in this year’s Startup Storms program and look forward to closer collaboration in the next projects.

Gestur Pétursson, CEO of PCC Iceland

Gestur has been CEO / Managing Director of companies for the past 20 years, as well as serving on the boards of companies in Iceland and internationally. He has specialized in corporate culture transformation and restructuring corporate revenue and cost structures. Integrating innovation into day-to-day operations, risk management, business development and employee empowerment are of particular interest. In recent years, Guest has also been providing mentorship and support to entrepreneurs.

Magnús Óskarsson, Director of KLAK VMS

Magnús Ingi is the co-founder of the start-up company Calidris. Calidris developed software for airlines that improved their operations, increased flexibility and revenue. Calidris was sold to the US company Sabre in 2010, which employed around 40 start-ups, while Sabre is one of the world’s largest airline and tourism software companies. Previously, Magnús managed Icelandair’s revenue management for five years and was Managing Director at OZ for one year.

Elísabet Austmann, Head of Innovation and Marketing at Högur

Elisabet Austmann is an international marketing specialist with an MBA. She has years of experience in marketing and brand management; both domestic and foreign brands in the Icelandic market as well as Icelandic brands into foreign markets. Through her work at Ölgerðin Egill Skallagrímsson, Glitnir, Marel, BIOEFFECT and now in Högur, she has been involved in product development of new products and bringing them to market. She is also responsible for Uppsprettan, which is an innovation fund under the auspices of Hagar, see further on www.uppsprettan.hagar.is

Sigurður H. Markússon, Director of Development at Sæbýli

Sigurður Markússon works for Sæbýli on the upscaling of the company’s production. He has extensive experience in innovation in energy, industry and food-related projects where sustainability is the main theme. Both of business development and technological development projects.

Hreinn Þór Hauksson, Director of Business and Product Development at Icelandic Securities

Hreinn has a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Lund University since 2012 and is very interested in the entire economic environment and facilities of entrepreneurs in Iceland. Hreinn has worked for Icelandic Securities hf. since 2014, first as a fund manager of alternative investment funds, mutual funds and alternative investment funds.

Örn Viðar Skúlason, Investment Manager of the New Business Venture Fund

Örn Viðar has extensive experience in managing and operating companies. He was Managing Director of Marketing and Deputy Managing Director of SÍF Group from 2000 to 2004, leading strategic planning and planning. He was then Director of SÍF’s domestic operations at Iceland Seafood from 2004 to 2005. From 2005 to 2008 Örn Viðar was the Head of Corporate Finance and Investment at SPRON. At the same time, Örn sat on the boards of several subsidiaries of SPRON. From 2008 to 2017, Örn was Managing Director of Proact Wholesale. Örn Viðar has a degree in economic engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and a master’s degree in corporate finance from Reykjavik University.
