We’re Knut, Lars, Sondre, and Fredrik—the founders of Findable. When we started this journey three years ago, our mission was clear: To make vital building information easily accessible throughout the entire building lifecycle. Why? Because this is critical to enable safe, sustainable, and cost-efficient buildings.

Today, 2 million documents later, we are thrilled to share a pivotal moment in our journey—we have raised a €9 million Series A, led by Christoph Janz at Point Nine, with support from KOMPAS, Construct Venture, Malling & Co Venture, and Lake Eight.

Solving a Global Challenge

The built environment accounts for more than 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and we must act now to reduce the impact. Building safety has never been more critical. Tragic accidents like the Grenfell Tower fire underscore the horrific consequences failure in documentation and fire safety planning can lead to. The future of safe and sustainable building practices hinges on proper documentation, and at Findable, we’re determined to solve this problem.

Imagine owning or operating a building and constantly searching for a needle in a haystack: Thousands of documents stored in dusty ring binders, USB sticks, email attachments, and unorganized digital files—not searchable and impossible to manage efficiently. This is the reality today, and it’s a barrier to safety and sustainability.

At Findable, we’re addressing these challenges head-on by providing a platform that transforms scattered building documentation into easily accessible, organized information.

Enter Findable: AI-Powered Efficiency for the Built World

Our AI platform turns chaos into order. We help companies efficiently manage building information to meet regulations, enhance sustainability, and operate effectively. Think of it as Google for your building documentation. To date, we’ve processed over 2 million documents and 15 million pages.

AI is revolutionizing industries across the board, and real estate is no exception. We are driving this transformation with our customers, enabling tasks that once took a week to be completed in just 10 minutes. Information that previously required days to surface is now available instantly, empowering teams to make faster, smarter decisions.

Closing Critical Gaps in the Documentation

For the first time, our customers can see their thousands of documents neatly organized. Soon after implementing Findable’s automated categorization, one customer noticed a critical gap: “Why is the sprinkler category empty? There are sprinklers in the building.” This crucial discovery—previously hidden in a sea of documents—came to light thanks to Findable. To address this issue, we’ve introduced the Red Flag report, a tool that proactively identifies and highlights missing documentation, allowing customers to resolve potential problems before they escalate.

Findable empowers users with quick and effortless access to critical information, whether they’re in the office or on-site via our intuitive mobile app. With advanced search and chat features, interacting with documents becomes seamless, ensuring that vital data is always just a few taps away. Stavanger Municipality, for example, went from relying on a wall of ring binders and scattered digital files to having over 70,000 documents neatly organized and easily accessible. We also support global enterprises like VELUX, enhancing facility management across 36 countries, driving efficiency and operational excellence on a large scale.

Expansion into the UK

A key driver of our growth is our strategic expansion into the UK. As compliance and safety become central with the introduction of the Building Safety Act in 2022, Findable is uniquely positioned to help companies meet complex regulatory requirements. We’re already partnering with leading UK clients, ensuring their buildings are safer, compliant, and more sustainable.
