🇳🇴 Vår Energi welcomes start-up of production from Kristin South

69

Vår Energi today welcomes Equinor’s announcement of the start-up from the first Lavrans well in the Kristin South project in the Norwegian Sea.

The expected reserves in phase one of the Kristin South project are estimated at 58 million barrels of oil equivalent gross, according to the operator.

For Vår Energi, the Kristin South project will provide net production of approximately 4 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day at peak. Four more wells are planned for the next two years as part of the Kristin South project’s first phase.

Vår Energi’s COO, Torger Rød said:

We congratulate Equinor for their safe and successful production start-up from the first Lavrans well in the Kristin South project. This is a great example of how challenging discoveries can be developed to create profitable, low emission production in line with our target to deliver around 400 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day by end 2025.

Partners (Haltenbanken Vest Unit): Equinor Energy AS (54,82%, operator), Petoro AS (22,52%), Vår Energi ASA (16,66%) and TotalEnergies EP Norge AS (6%).
